How to Get Forex Rebates on an Existing Broker Account (IB Transfer Explained)

Admin · 1 October 2026

Rebates are paid on accounts that sit under an introducing broker (IB) code. If you opened your account directly with the broker — or through another partner — your volume currently pays someone else, or no one. There are two ways to change that.

Option 1: Ask the broker to move your account (IB transfer)

Many brokers let you change the IB attached to an existing account. The process is usually:

  1. Contact the broker's support (email or live chat) from the email address on your account.
  2. Ask for your account to be assigned to a new IB and give the IB ID shown on our broker setup page.
  3. Keep the broker's written confirmation.
  4. Send us your account number so we can watch for it in the partner report.

Things to know:

  • Policies differ. Some brokers allow a change at any time; some only if the account has not traded yet; some never. The broker's support team has the final word.
  • Rebates start from the transfer date. Volume traded before the change is not paid retroactively.
  • Some brokers need the current IB to release you. If so, support will tell you.

Option 2: Open a new account under our IB

If the broker refuses a transfer, open a new live account with the same broker through our partner link (or enter our IB ID at signup). You can usually:

  • keep the same login email and verification documents,
  • move funds between your own accounts with the broker's internal transfer tool,
  • and choose a different account type at the same time, if another one suits you better.

This is often the fastest route: many brokers approve an additional account within minutes when you are already verified.

Option 3: Pick a broker that fits better

If you were going to switch anyway, compare rebates, regulators and costs on our broker list and in compare. Check our guide on Raw vs Standard accounts before you choose an account type.

What we never need

To pay rebates we only need your broker name and trading account number. We never need your platform password, and you never send trading funds to us.
